Dickert’s Pond is a beautiful two-acre aerated lake located at the South end of Camp Jordan Park behind the Arena.
This is a catch and release pond that is monitored, and a TWRA fishing license is required. Beginning in 2020, TWRA will stock the pond with catfish in April, May and June and rainbow trout will be stocked in December, January and February.
There are plenty of parking spaces available behind the Arena and picnic tables are also located in the area.
The pond is a sanctuary for ducks, Canada geese, seagulls, cranes and turtles.
Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency stocks the pond annually, keeping it full of catfish, bass, brim, and crappie.
Events held during the season include an Optimist Club Fishing Rodeo on the first Saturday in June at 9 a.m.
The Fishing Rodeo is fun for all ages with prizes going to the winners.
