Dickert’s Pond is a beautiful two-acre lake located at the South end of Camp Jordan Park behind the Arena.
This is a catch and release pond that is monitored. Fishing license are not required at Dickert’s Pond, but anyone fishing in the creek has to have a license.
There are plenty of parking spaces available behind the Arena and picnic tables are also located in the area.
The pond is a sanctuary for ducks, Canadian geese, seagulls, cranes, turtles and the park’s Bald Eagle, Jordan, is usually in the area in search for prey.
Dickert’s Pond is stocked with catfish annually through a joint effort with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. Nevertheless, there are bass, brim and crappie also in the pond.
Events held during the season include an Optimist Club Fishing Rodeo on the first Saturday in June at 9 p.m.
The Fishing Rodeo is fun for all ages with prizes going to the winners.
